Smiles to life
I was rushing to work. I was already late and alas going to be more late. I should have realized that its the month of december and not any more summer. I had to clean up the snow from yesterday. My car is all covered with mother nature's creativity. It is freezing cold, my fingers started to loose that engaging power. I realized I cant bear this anymore and suddenly jumped into the car.
The drive was very scary with snows and icy roads. I was trying to be cozy inside my car with my heat and music on. Trying to judge on maintaining my speed so I dont drift too much. I am a neat and descent driver to be honest.
Just 10 minutes away from my work I witnessed something unusual. A girl in her twenties trying to get some help from the cold. I stopped by her and asked she needed help. She all of a sudden jumped inside the car. The poor girl was shivering and her hands were pale from the cold. I felt bad and decided to get her a coffee. I drove to a tim hortans, got her breakfast. She ate it with no hesitation. I was wondering about the girls situation and asked her about what happened.
The girl started crying loud. She was trying to say something but her words were breaking from the shivers. I realised how pathetic her condition was. So I decided not to bug her much until she regains her body temperature.
We had complete silence for almost an hour. I was worried about me getting late an hour at work. I asked the girl where I could drop her. The little girl wanted to go to her school, missed her bus unfortunately. She had her exams and probably missed it as being late.
I decided to drop her to the school. I was little uncomfortable on the things happened. My mind was questioning me on why I was worrying too much on the girl. Meanwhile we arrived at the school. She greeted me a thank you with a beautiful smile.
I couldnt resist to accept it. I was rejoycing and felt so blessed on a simple thing happened in my life.
My day might be very normal or could have been bad . But, this simple thing have made the day valuable. I dont wanna forget the idea of simple things making life better. Its your care and empathy to fellow beings matters more than being selfish.
